8月4至7日，美国北卡罗来纳大学张勇教授应邀访问长春光机所。
在发光学及应用国家重点实验室，宋航主任向张勇教授详细介绍了实验室的学科分布情况及各课题组的科研成果。在我所编辑部，张勇教授受到编辑部主任白雨虹研究员和编辑们的热烈欢迎。白主任对张教授作为《中国光学》外籍编委对期刊做出的贡献表示感谢，并希望张教授能够协助开展光机所英文期刊《Light: Science & Applications》的海外宣传工作。
8月6日，张教授作了题为《Light-matter interaction: from spatially resolved probing to local structural and property modification》的学术报告，并与相关领域科研人员展开了热烈的讨论。报告会上，大家还详细讨论了科研合作的方向和学生联合培养等问题。
个人简介：Yong Zhang received B.S. and M.S. in Physics from Xiamen University in 1982 and 1985, and Ph.D. in Physics from Dartmouth College in 1994. He was with National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) from 1994-2009. In 2009, he joined the ECE Dept of UNC-Charlotte as Bissell Distinguished Professor (adjunct Professor of Physics Dept). His current research activities include (1) alternative materials and structures for photovoltaics (e.g., ZnO/ZnSe nano-heterostructures, CZTS), (2) defects in optoelectronic materials and devices (e.g., IR detector materials InAs/GaSb SLs and MCT, PV and LED materials GaAs, InGaN and AlGaN), (3) inorganic-organic hybrid materials (e.g., ZnTe(en)0.5), (4) 2D materials and their heterostructures (e.g., graphene, graphene/Si heterostrutures), and (5) fundamental sciences in solid state physics. He has published more than 160 papers and book chapters.
